Fatman or littleboy? Nah. World borders have already been formed. And the enemy has revealed itself on the world stage, by trying to declare war on 6 countries at once for personal profit and gain. China.

Ahh so this is the AI art anime that everyone on the internet is freaking out about

Honestly the worst part about this was the audio. >.<

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Damn i knew it! No wonder it feels so by the book!!!

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

AI is not ruining anything we have had AI help for years yet only now we act like its gonna kill animation because we where told its AI

Onaya • 1 year ago

Except in this case - and why people are angry - is that the company blamed they needed to use AI because of worker shortage when in reality they just didn't want to hire anyone.
One of my friends is an animator who just got fired to save money only to see the company chuck out the "Worker shortage". No they fired them.

I would not had minded AI for this, except that they blame the reason on worker shortage when they are just greedy fuckers

Satyam Jaiswal • 1 year ago

The fck?

Lord WillYung • 1 year ago

Look at the end credits for insight into the ai + artist aspect, or Iโ€™m sure Google has plenty articles on it

Ririka Momobami • 1 year ago

AI for the BG? Not bad imo. Idk why people are hating it. I think this will help animators a lot.

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

its the 3D equals worthless no passion argument again
if its not 2D an basically hand drawn its hollow an deserves murder
such BS

โ€œBecause of a labor shortage in the anime industry, we used AI for drawing the backgrounds in this short!โ€

Orrrrr you couldโ€™ve just increased animator wages

vovan1 • 1 year ago

yeah, i'm also agreeing while watching this 4free! xD

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

the AI is not ruining the industry we have had AI help since pretty much the start of Computers an we still have jobs :)

vovan1 • 1 year ago

o really? i have a colleague, who's best friend is now ChatGPT xD

LesK • 1 year ago

orrr you could have looked at the credits more closely and read that it was redrawn and redone by hand in more than one of those stages.

allllso, educate yourself on how animation works. backgrounds are NOT drawn by animators. BG Artists are just that, artists. BGs are almost NEVER animated. they are static images with layered images of animated cells atop them. even desktop PC animation workstations use this technique even today. the 'movement' across a BG is an optical illusion due to camera position, focal length and focus plane.

โ€œ orrr you could have looked at the credits more closely and read that it was redrawn and redone by hand in more than one of those stages.โ€

Which begs the question - if background work already is swamped with artists doing shoddy jobs and then the animation managers have to redo it, whatโ€™s the purpose of using AI in the first place?

Itโ€™s like doing machine translation on a text, then asking a person to edit it to make sure itโ€™s all good. Why not just pay them to translate it themselves?

Itโ€™s an unnecessary step only born because the anime heads want more money.

LesK • 1 year ago

nah, this is an experimental short. don't blow the AI generated art issue up out of proportion. you are beginning to sound like the South Park 'hicks' "dey tuuk our jooobs!" just insert AI and take out 'dey'.

as i said before, do more research. Background in animation is normally done two ways. 1 internal with a separate team. 2 external outsourcing. you want an awesome city? hire JC Staff's background team. backgrounding has been around since theater began and continued through Disney and 'Steam Boat Willie' and beyond. the continuous background 'reel' of cars and cityscapes outside of cars in live action productions isn't always done by putting two actors in a towed car with cameras inside the cabin. sometimes it is a projection on a screen behind and around a static car with cameras inside and outside the car. matte artists have put in work like this in movies as well. Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson and his staff at the National Observatory in the US have provided multiple starfields, night skies, shooting stars, comets, and other 'heavenly bodies' for movies and TV shows. if you've ever taken a shopcraft course in drama you've painted brick panels for simulated walls or buildings. how interesting would it be for actors on stage to be standing in front of a huge blank sheet of canvas and pointing to an imaginary castle on a hill? why not PAINT that castle on that canvas?

corrections happen INSIDE the teams. the animation team lead and the background lead look at the storyboarding with the main director and plot out... character moves here, and here, and here, and does this... how big and how deep and what will be the camera angles and lighting effects... the backgrounding team takes all this into account by making THE ENVIRONMENT that these actions happen in! just listen and learn, animation is one thing. backgrounding is entirely separate. CINEMATOGRAPHY is what puts the two together.

your looking into it to much this is not ruining the industry much like how 3D never killed 2D jobs

Hachiko Reloaded

reza • 1 year ago

idk what everyone is hating on it, i literally cried a lot when i watched this for the first time

Jibril • 1 year ago

they hate it cuz it is AI generated art and if this became the norm in the future, the already bad wage condition of the animators may get even worse.

Kagnon • 1 year ago

I'm sure your comment in a pirated anime site will get through to them.

ahahahah roasted man

brianuuu • 1 year ago

I don't think paying for Netflix does it either, I'd rather support artists directly with commissions

Jibril • 1 year ago

jokes on you since I buy figures and officially translated manga. I don't use official channel for anime streaming cuz their sub sux

LesK • 1 year ago

watch the credits again, the backgrounds were re-drawn multiple times by people. BG art is NOT DONE BY ANIMATORS but artists. learn what the industry actually does.

Jibril • 1 year ago

learn to do reading comprehension then

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

people keep using the fuking typing method of people online to escape talking to people
you don't type in full punctuation therefore your dumbass :)

LesK • 1 year ago

:> comprehension is my specialty. :>

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

Which is dumb AI is not taking all the jobs like how 3D never killed all 2D jobs AI has been a part of animation for a long time but no one cared until its told to us

Gosh I wish my phone's battery lasts half as long as that robo dog's.

#HashTag-Kun๐ŸŒ • 1 year ago

Heartwarming and beautiful 10/10

[Insert Name] • 1 year ago

It's interesting that they used AI to help generate the backgrounds.

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

an its cool not a hate crime at all

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

ah beautiful
i wish they used a different song for this, maybe something like makoto shinkai use in his short videos

Woos • 1 year ago

I think the music was actually extremely fitting, it's upbeat and also extremely sad sounding similar to Shelter in a way.

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

i'm just not into the vocaloid vocals and i prefer more traditional instrumentals/beats/vibes

Taggedin • 1 year ago

I thought the music choice was the most interesting part, vocaloid is always weird, and unusual, the last two OVAs posted were so generic tbh.

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

yeah i'm not into vocaloid music, that's prolly why
like, if i watched this without the vocals (only the instrumentals) i'd prolly cry. and i will cry even more if they use mellow instrumentals and arrangements

you simply do not know good vocaloid artists
simply having a robotic voice sample is not enough
you have to tune it a lot, and when the artist simply cut copy pastes, and there is no tuning involved whatsoever, you get robotic monotone

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

....... why are you explaining something that's obvious. I know that there are good vocaloid artists out there, but preferences exist you know?
I just dont like vocaloid music/vocals. I can name other genres/types that i dont like.. nightcore, death metal, etc

brianuuu • 1 year ago

that man literally thinks an actual song sang by a real person then autotuned is the same as vocaloid, just don't take him seriously at this point lol

SenicAsianRoute • 1 year ago

Look up Vsinger their Loids have some the most none Loid sounding songs out their sure you can tell its a Loid but they nail all the subtle tone shifts hehe its interesting example Zhiyu Moke Sand City

Souma's Headband • 1 year ago

I. Dont. Like. Vocaloid.
